Fishing is a preferred profession on the island it’s a peaceful island, almost all of its towns are modest and standard with narrow streets and beautiful buildings and homes. The main port of the island is called Patitiri, it’s the capital of the island. There are stunning locations around Patitiri, e.g. Rousoum town where visitors can enjoy a variety of wonderful beaches and also sense the calm atmosphere. Beside Rousoum town there are numerous stunning hamlets that merit a visit, e.g.: Votsi, Milia, Chrisi Milia, Steni Vala.

Like plenty of other islands nearby Alonissos modified thanks to the tremor in 1965. Full cities were deserted by the neighbors and reconstructed in safer areas. Patitiri also modified due to the tremor and nowadays it is a new town, built by the inhabitants of the island. Because of the quake, the homes of Patititri are all current and give a different image than of the other Greek islands which typically have a little and terribly pretty harbor, full of normal homes. It’s the perfect place for families and couples.
